Warings joins Pompey to promote RESPECT Programme to city children

Warings has signed up to Pompey’s RESPECT Programme to help youngsters in the city.

As an initiation to the campaign, Warings Deputy CEO Philippe Jouy was put through his paces at Fratton Park by teenagers from the programme on Wednesday 21st October..

The Pompey RESPECT Programme aims to engage youngsters through sporting activities and instil a sense of pride in their city. As a business based in the city, Warings passionately supports its community and jumped at the chance to be the official partner for this campaign.

Philippe Jouy said: “It is fundamental to us as a business that we engage with our local community. The RESPECT Programme enables us to support a great initiative that delivers vital training and skills to a diverse range of young people, helping them secure a positive future in the workplace. This is a really important campaign to the city and we are delighted to be involved.”

Part of the Pompey Sports and Education Foundation, RESPECT is a social inclusion scheme that is both locally and nationally recognised as delivering successful programmes on a range of Government agendas.

Delivered with the help and support of the Home Office, Football Foundation and other local authorities including Portsmouth City Council, the RESPECT programme offers a wide provision of mainly free activities to young people in the city between the ages of 5-25. The core aim is to promote positive behaviour towards health, education, personal well-being, citizenship, relationships and the environment.

The new partnership, to be made official at the Portsmouth v Tottenham match on Saturday 17th October will see Warings support the delivery of valuable training and apprenticeships for young people. It will also enable staff to participate in a number of voluntary activities including basic football coaching.

Portsmouth FC’s RESPECT Programme manager Julian Wadsworth said: “Warings is a fantastic partner to have on board due to the company’s commitment to the local community and the wealth of skills it has to offer to those involved.

“We very much look forward to working with Warings to share ideas and agree initiatives to move the partnership forward.”
